Japanese Erotica In Contemporary Art is a great introduction to the many Japanese artists and illustrators specializing in erotic art, featuring a total of 50 artists. The book showcases a good mix of old and new talent, with some familiar names like Hajime Sorayama and Yoshitaka Amano.
Each artist’s showcase comes with a brief introduction and bio, in both Japanese and English language.
(above & below) Beautiful Nihonga art work by Yasunari Ikenaga. I reviewed his art book One Hundred Nights Of Bliss here.
(above) Art work by Yuji Moriguchi, and obvious tribute to Hokusai’s Dream Of the Fisherman’s Wife.
(above) Veteran erotic artist Hajime Sorayama – check out his fantastic art book Sorayama : XL-Masterworks. (below) The book also features a section covering doll art.
(above) Illustrations by Samura Hiroaki ( Blade Of The Immortal ).
An excellent collection of erotic art by some of the best artists working in Japan today. Recommended.
I want to thank Sekizawa-san and PIE books for providing me with a copy of the book for review.
