Currently a Dragon Ball / Lawson promotional tie-up campaign is running offering unique Dragon Ball goods for Lawson customers. Its amazing how integral Toriyama Akira’s Dragon Ball is in the daily lives of the average Japanese citizen, an ever popular manga that was published more than two decades ago.
The title of the promotion “元気になろ－ソン!” ( Genki ni naro-son !) is a smart play of words meaning “to get invigorated / energized”, with Lawson (ろ－ソン) and Son (ソン – Goku’s last name ) thrown into the same phrase.
To get you going, how about some tasty Goku Deep Fried Shrimp Balls ? ( below )
I gotta get a taste of those, but I think I’ll be too shy to ask for them at the store ! Haha. (below) There’s a host of other stuff you can check out at the official page here.
Lawson isn’t the biggest convenience chain here in Japan ( 7-Eleven is ), but I think they always have the best tie-ups and offers – like this one with Evangelion. ( below ) Read more about it in this older post.
Back in my hometown Singapore we only have two convenience stall chains – 7-Eleven and Cheers ( are there more now ? ), and I don’t remember seeing any Dragon Ball tie-ups (or any other cool tie-up for that matter ) before.
What about your country ? Any cool convenience stall tie-ups ?
