Griffes D’ange (Angel’s Claw) is an art book collaboration by renowned comic artist Jean Giraud (Moebius) and writer Alexandro Jodorowsky. The story explores the erotic quests of a young woman and features the most sexually explicit art by Moebius that (with my limited knowledge of his work) I know.
The contents of this giant hardcover book (see image at bottom of page) is presented with full sized illustrations on the right and text on the left, with a smaller accompanying image. The more surrealistic images found on the left pages are closer in style to his other work 40 Days Dans Le Desert, often featuring floating motifs.
Seeing Moebius take on such sexually explicit subject matter was a little jarring at first but for me his gorgeous art is the key here. I believe this Japanese edition is quite a bit cheaper than the Humanoids edition, but at the expense of the language, of course.
