Takehiko Inoue Inteprets Gaudi’s Universe is special art exhibition commemorating Spain & Japan’s 400 years of cultural exchange. Renowned manga artist Takehiko Inoue ( Slamdunk, Vagabond ) narrates the life of esteemed architect Gaudi through his original drawings.
This is the official catalog for the exhibition, a 2 book volume ( not sold separately ) that collects Inoue’s illustrations featured in the exhibition, as well as Gaudi’s portfolio of work, including architectural sketches, models and more.
Besides his prolific manga work, Inoue Takehiko has in recent years moved beyond the frame of a comic artist to hold independent art exhibitions, the first of which was the immensely popular and successful The LAST Manga Exhibition, documenting the life of legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi. The square format of this catalog is very similar to the 2 beautiful volumes printed for The LAST Manga Exhibition.

Beautiful watercolor illustrations by Inoue-san celebrating the life and work of a legendary architect. What’s not to like ? This one gets my highest recommendations.
